Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySUSAN SAWATZKY (nee SIEMENS) Susan Sawatzky aged 97 years of Altona, formerly of Weidenfeld, MB passed away at Eastview Place, Altona on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Left to cherish her memory are her children Susan Wiebe; Anne (Peter) Penner; Ruth (Ron) Penner; Dorothy (Larry) Wiebe; John (Gail) Sawatzky; 13 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Sawatzky, daughter Lynda Sawatzky, grandson Trevor Penner, and son-in-law Neil Wiebe. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Altona Mennonite Church in Altona, MB with interment to follow in the Weidenfeld Cemetery. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. In memory of Susan Sawatzky donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee (134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9). My condolences to the Sawatzky family on the passing of your mother. I remember her from our days in the Rosenfeld Bergthaler Church (1960s). Her death will leave a large hole and of course an empty chair around the Christmas table. We have found that sharing memories can really help to fill that void and also bring healing.
