HOWARD ANDREW STEWART
Date of Passing: Dec 17, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHOWARD ANDREW STEWART On Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 4:25 a.m., Howard Andrew Stewart, aged 58 years, died in the Brandon Hospital as a result of cancer. Howard was born in Winnipeg to Marjorie and George Stewart. The family lived in Fort Garry and Howard had a happy childhood. Winters were spent building snow forts and playing street hockey and summers at Clear Lake set the stage for a life time of wonderful memories with family and friends. Howard graduated from Vincent Massey Collegiate in 1974, attended Red River College for surveying courses and started a lifetime of work. He went up to the NWT, enjoying it's challenges, it's horizons and it's solitude. Howard's greatest asset was his love of people. He could talk with anyone, he would help anyone, he loved his family in his own passionate way. Howard is survived by his sister Jan Bones, nephews Derek and Kevin Bones, great-nephews Hayden and Thomas, great-niece Taylor and a brother Gordon, all of Winnipeg; brother-in-law George Bones of Kenora, cousins Kelly, Kerry and Timothy Gillespie of Calgary. Howard is also survived by friends from Vancouver island to Iqaluit to Yellowknife and to Newfoundland. Special heart felt thanks to Harvey. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. in Oak River, Manitoba at the United Church on Limit Street. A reception to follow at Oak River Inn. For information contact jbones3@shaw.ca. Donations to the Sunshine Fund 960 Portage Ave. Winnipeg or your favourite charity would be appreciated.

Jan and family, Just want you all to know that I think of Howard daily and still, if for only a moment, expect the phone to ring at 2:30am as that is the preferred time he would call me. Think of you all often and want you to know I miss him greatly. Love, Annette Yellowknife, NT - Posted by: Annette Poitras (Great kindred spirit) on: Jun 11, 2015
