PATRICK JOHN VERRY Patrick John Verry was born on November 8, 1951 and died on December 16, 2014 at St. Boniface Hospital. A gifted athlete, Patrick attended Murray State University in Kentucky on a Track and Field Scholarship, where he majored in history. His athletic pursuits continued throughout his life with a love of playing golf at St. Charles Country Club and billiards at the Manitoba Club. Chess and politics were also favourite hobbies, and friends with opposing political views experienced many loud and often late night discussions' over a good bottle of wine. Antique watches were also a passion, but Patrick was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren. He constantly marveled at their development and growing knowledge of the world around them. Patrick and his wife Vivienne shared a special bond and travelled to Devon, England on many occasions a place they both loved. He was also close to daughter Lisa, whose strength helped both Patrick and the family through his illness. The family would like to thank Dr. Rabson, Dr. Czaykowski and Denise Klassen at CancerCare Manitoba for their care and compassion. The Wheeler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, but at Patrick's request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Patrick leaves behind his wife Vivienne; daughter Lisa and grandchildren Ava and Evan; his mother Beatrice; sister Linda and niece Olivia; brother Tim (Barb); sister Melissa (Graham) and nephews George and Otis in Squamish, BC; and sons Johnathon in Kelowna BC, Steven (fiancé Danielle) and Paul (Rachael) and grandchildren Eden, Emelia and Atticus in Summerland, BC.
