DONNA CATHERINE MACKENZIE (nee DUNCAN) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the age of 80. Donna is predeceased by her father George, mother Jessie, sister Eve, son Kevin, and nephew Randy. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Geri (Brian), brother Harold, children George, James, Kimberley (Roger), daughter-in-law Imelda, and grandchildren Lauren, Eric, Meghan, Ryan, Ayden, Kyle and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives in Manitoba, United States and Scotland. Donna was born on December 24, 1933 and lived in Winnipeg all of her life. Mom started working at the young age of 14 and had various jobs over the years. Mom was a very independent woman who always put her children first. She also provided great support as we began to raise families of our own. She had much joy watching her grandchildren play hockey, soccer, volleyball and theatre. Mom gave her time freely volunteering for a number of organizations. Mom had a love for several things such as painting, golfing, spending time with family, friends, and a good cup of tea. Respecting her wishes a celebration of life for family and Mom's friends will be taking place on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Wheeler Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Arrangements in Care of: Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204 224-1525

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I was lucky enough to meet this gentle soul at Good Neighbours Active Living Center in Art. This lady was not only kind, loving and caring but a real gift in the art studio. Her art was amazing and she had an eye for detail. It was fun to be in her company, and she will surely be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. My deepest condolences to her children, grandchildren and everyone else she knew. Donna may the gardens of Heaven be your new canvases, rest in peace. • Donna was my Saturday partner in crime when we worked at Golden Wear! I loved working with her and our time together was always the highlight of my week! I also had the pleasure of knowing and seeing Donna through Highland Dancing and Kim. So many great memories, and just too many to share. Donna will always hold a special place in my heart! Sincerest condolences to Kim, Roger and family, The Shipphams and the rest of Donna's family and friends. She was a very special lady and I know she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Heather Hemeryck (friend) on: Dec 22, 2014

  • My most sincere condolences to Donna's family. May they all find comfort in precious memories. I knew Donna over many years in the Monday morning ladies golf league at Harbour View Golf Course. Donna always had a funny comment to make about the game she had just played as the ladies gathered to have coffee after the game. It was always a fun time. She loved the game and she loved being with people. She had a quick wit and loved to share a laugh. She will be sadly missed by the many who knew her. - Posted by: Shirley Augustine (Friend from Harbour View Golf Course.) on: Dec 21, 2014

  • Donna was always a highlight of family get togethers at birthdays over the years. She had great observations and a great laugh. A truly independent individual. I will miss talking sports, especially tennis and golf, with her. - Posted by: Roland Offenloch and family (Kimberley's husband's brother) on: Dec 20, 2014
