Date of Passing: Dec 13, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL LOUISE DEMPSTER (nee FRYER) April 20, 1916 - December 13, 2014 Muriel Louise Dempster passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Kildonan Personal Care Home at the age of 98 and a half years. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Audrey Loochuk and Shirley Jackson along with their families, as well as her nieces and nephews-in-law and their family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank, her parents Samuel and Mary Jane Fryer of Portage, brother Leonard, sisters Vera, Eunice, Stella and their spouses. Muriel was a hairdresser and loved bowling, dancing and golfing. She was a modern, stylish, smart woman who was interested in current affairs all her life. She touched many lives throughout her life and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. In keeping with Muriel's wishes, cremation has taken place. As she was always thinking of others, Muriel had requested not to have a service over the Christmas season. Therefore, a celebration of her life will take place at Augustine United Church in April, 2015. Arrangements are pending and a further notice will appear at a later date. Thank you to Kildonan Personal Care Home staff and nurse Fritzie for her kindness and caring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Mr. and Mrs. Dempster were always inviting the kids around their house over for lemonade in the summers and they kept track of all of us as we grew up and moved on in our lives. Mrs. Demp would always remember us at Christmas and send us pictures we had forgotten about. they were always good to us and we all liked and respected them both. They were special - Posted by: Duncan Macfadden (Old Neighbour) on: Dec 28, 2014

Although Muriel wasn't directly relate to me, ~ she was the Aunt of my Uncle Fred's wife Shirley, she was like family. It was always good to see her at gatherings. She had wit and charm and drew people to her. Muriel was a very lovely woman and I will miss her. Cindy (Broadbent) Friesen - Posted by: Cindy Friesen (related through marriage) on: Dec 22, 2014

There are some people in your childhood who give you cherished memories which last a lifetime. Mr & Mrs "Demp" were a very special couple. I ran into Mrs Demp a few years ago... She hadn't changed a bit. She still had her warmth and dignity I remembered as a child. I'll never forget this special couple. - Posted by: Shirley Mustard (Old neighbour ) on: Dec 21, 2014

Muriel Dempster has been a part of my entire life; a dear friend of my late mother, Leona (Lyon) Campbell. I will remember Muriel for her intelligence, passion and commitment to current happenings, nurturing of others, generosity, understanding and patience, spirituality, deep devotion to her church, and her uncritical acceptance and love. Thank you, Muriel. May Muriel's soul rest with her beloved Frank, in perfect peace. Joanne Brennan - Posted by: Joanne (Campbell) Brennan (Friend) on: Dec 20, 2014
