I first met Klaus when Safeway opened the Fort Richmond Store 709 in fall of 1972 where he was the Meat Manager. Our paths crossed many times, mostly over the phone as I handled the relief meat cutters and he would call me for sickness and holiday relief. As Klaus progressed up the ranks and finally into the head office as Meat Merchandiser, we would be in the same building. Over the years in the office, we had many a coffee break together and I got to know Klaus a lot more and his sense of humour wit and his past life experiences. I visited Klaus many times at Nova Vista Park Lodge. Klaus was a great help to me by providing insight into the meat operations when I was writing my university paper which was later published. Sorry to see you go and I will always remember your look for you always had me guessing, "Are you kidding me or is it true." My sympathy to the family on your passing. - Posted by: colin dederick (co-worker) on: Dec 30, 2014
