Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTONY STEVEN SHISTOWSKI January 17, 1946 - December 13, 2014 It is great sadness that the family of Tony Shistowski announce his sudden passing on Saturday December 13, 2014. He was predeceased by his father Steve Shistowski in 1999, and his son-in-law Roland Lemoine, 2011. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his mother Katie Shistowski; brother Eugene; daughter Larissa (Chris) and grandson Maxwell; son Brent (Lauren), grandchildren Aiden and Aliya; and ex wife Cindy. Tony was born on January 17, 1946 in the R.M. of Harrison in Manitoba. He attended Sandy Lake School up to grade five until the family moved to Winnipeg and he attended King Edward School until grade six. In grade six he was chosen to a major work class. He then completed high school at Sisler High in Winnipeg. Directly after high school Tony chose a career with the City of Winnipeg where he quickly advanced to supervisor of Water Works Operations. A position he held until he retired in 1995. Until his passing he worked part time for Marion Cleaners. Tony was a very charismatic person. Just by walking into a room of people they found themselves attracted to his quick wit and sense of humour which made him loved by everyone. He was happiest when helping people. You could always count on Tony to be there if you needed him, no questions asked. He was a dedicated father, son and brother. He loved to coach is kids baseball and hockey teams as they were growing up and volunteered as a big brother to children without fathers. Tony was very passionate about old cars and reading history. He loved animals and was an exceptional cook. Tony was known for his delicious homemade pizzas, which were absolutely incredible! A funeral service will be held on Sunday December 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street. Flowers are graciously declined, in lieu; those who may desire can make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association. "Good bye to our father, you will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts forever, love you!" Larissa and Brent.

Will remember the old days of playing football / baseball in mom's garden along with other neighbor kids & in the winter time playing hockey on the sloughs, lots of fun. I was shocked to hear of his passing on, my condolences to his family, psalm 25.4 * show me the path where I should walk, Oh Lord; point out the right road for me to follow * - Posted by: KENNETH (SANDY LAKE FRIEND) on: Feb 09, 2015

There are so many I remember stories... I remember you teaching me to ride a bike...I remember you teaching me how to cook, helping me with my home work, grounding me (I probably deserved it). You would make me soup when I was sick... You coached my baseball games...I could always go to you for anything... I remember when you taught me how to drive lol you had nerves of steel for that one...you would lend me money and not take it back when I gave it to you. When Roland died you did everything to help me and Max..I am so grateful he got to know you even if it was for a little while...you would go with me to his soccer games and go trick or treating (even though I knew you hated going) but you still went for Max. I got lucky when I got you as my dad! I will miss you more than you know...you live on in my heart always... Be at peace now and know you were loved very much and you taught me so much who has made me who I am today. And I am proud for that... Love your daughter - Posted by: Larissa Lemoine (Daughter) on: Dec 30, 2014

Sorry to hear of your loss. We have many fond memories of Tony on Continental. The day he broke the bottle of baileys on the sidewalk. He was so sad. The next day we put a gate in between our yards so he didn't have to walk around and chance breaking another bottle. - Posted by: Ian Livingstone (ex-neighbors) on: Dec 25, 2014
