LORRAINE MARIE MORTIMER (nee HERIE) October 18, 1954 - December 15, 2014 Peacefully on December 15, 2014, Lorraine lost her battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her mother Albertine Herie and her two brothers, Eddy and Leo Herie. She leaves behind her brothers Roger Herie and family of North Carolina, and Rick Herie of Winnipeg, along with a host of friends. Those who knew Lorraine knew of her zest for life in many forms, such as her interest and ability in curling and baseball. She was the Canasta queen for many years and recently passed on the crown to Janet. Lorraine's passion and capacity for beer is legend and "Loreen" floored many over the years. In the last 10 years, Lorraine again showed both her talent and ability when she began creating watercolour and acrylic works of art. Her accounting knowledge and skill was another area of expertise. Four years ago, Lorraine bought a house in order to have a little dog and along came Teddy, who was the love of her life over the last few years. She'll be happy to know that he now has a new home with a great big yard and kind owners. The family wish to thank the staff of DG2 at the Health Sciences Centre for all their help and care during these past few months. A special thank you is given to Kay and Janet for all of their help and love during this time and during their friendship with Lorraine. Another thank-you goes to her employers, Shell and Shell, for their understanding during these final months. Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Friends are invited to a gathering in Lorraine's honour on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 962 Ashburn St. Bring your pictures and your stories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare or the Humane Society.

Lorraine & I went to school together, early years through high school. After graduating we still saw each other. Camping with friends, socials, card games, etc. So many good times. She was a good friend. I will always have these great memories. She'll never be forgotten. - Posted by: Lynda Langevin-Smith (Friend (from B.C.)) on: Jan 07, 2015
