WALTER POLLOCK Peacefully on December 17, 2014, at Concordia Place Personal Care Home, Walter Pollock, beloved husband of the late Mary (1995), father to Barry (Marilyn), Karen (Rick), grandfather to Heather, Stephen (Jesse) and Leanne (Mike), Jordan (Leslie), passed away at the age of 97. Predeceased by parents John and Mary and sister Emily, 2011, in-laws Nikola and Eudokia Boyko, Anne and Paul Padoba, William Danko. He is survived by brother Mel (Norma), seven nieces and nephews. Dad and mom were married September 19, 1942. He helped his mother run the family corner store until taking a job with Swift Canadian, later P & H Foods, retiring at age 65. A highlight in retirement was volunteer work for CESO in Thailand before mom became ill. Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Sunday, December 21, 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 35 Marcie St., North Kildonan, Monday, December 22, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. with Very Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at Concordia Personal Care Home for their loving care, especially during the trials of the last few months. Thanks also to the various staff at Concordia Hospital Emergency during our frequent visits over the past two months as well as doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Dad's memory to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Fund, St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church or one's charity of choice.
