FRANCES JOSEPHINE MYKER Peacefully on December 19, 2014, Frances Myker passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital with family by her side. Left to cherish her memory is her sister Violet (Walter), and sisters-in-law Frances, Audrey and Zena. She will be lovingly remembered by her second family the Shores and by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Myker, brothers Paul, Lou, Stan and Donny, and beloved sister-in-law Dorothy. Frances was born on August 10, 1926 in Neepawa, MB. She grew up helping on the family farm and played an integral role in the raising of her younger siblings. As a young woman, Frances moved to Winnipeg and took employment with the Shore family until her retirement in 1995. Frances' faith and love for the Lord were first and foremost in her life and she enjoyed devoting much of her spare time to volunteer in the church. She was well respected by her fellow parishioners and will be missed by her extended Catholic family. Frances was the family matriarch of the Myker clan, always the glue that kept us connected. She gave unconditional love, guidance and support to her family. Her quiet but steadfast presence will be missed by everyone who was blessed to have had her in their lives. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima Street in Selkirk, MB with interment of ashes to take place at a later date. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital in charge of her care.
