Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • I knew Yuri from the time we were barely out of diapers to many years later. Although we grew apart I've never left him out of my thoughts and can't express how saddened I am to learn of his passing. Yuri was always a high-achiever. He excelled in all facets of school from academic studies to athleticism. He was always first in all his endeavours and when he put his mind to it there was always a great probability that he would succeed and surpass expectations. A conscientious man, he was a bulwark and beacon to those lost and in search of guidance. Also, he was incredibly thoughtful and never acted impulsively. A truer friend, nobody could ask for. I'll see you on the other side my brother. I miss you. - Posted by: Christopher (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2019

  • Yuri's time at our house was often spent doing his art- while Matt and others played music. He and I spent many evenings visiting- and I remember feeling not only intrigued with his ideas on many subjects, but more than that- I always felt an ease and comfort in his company. A unique ability to be genuine, with a warmth that radiated to others. A beautiful soul, I feel honoured our family was part of his journey. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time. - Posted by: Patty Medd (Friend/ son's friend) on: Dec 24, 2014

  • I met Yuri many months ago at Sara Riel art and crafts drop in. He was so talented, kind and he shared his knowledge and supplies for painting. I had never seen someone paint with knives before and he encouraged me to try. We did paint side by side a few times and he was always so positive. I am shocked to hear he is gone. I want to let Yuri's wife and family know that I am deeply sad for their loss. I hope his wonderful art gives them a small way to heal their hearts. - Posted by: Donna Kochie-Gillespie (Friend) on: Dec 23, 2014
