RAFAEL CORNISTA MACAYAN October 25, 1942 December 20, 2014 Peacefully, with his wife Naty at his side, Rafael Cornista Macayan passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 72 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his mother Dorotea Cornista Macayan; step- children, Josefina Tonio McCarthy and Serafin Tonio Jr.; his adopted children, Arlene Macayan Casubuan and Alexander dela Cruz Macayan; his brothers, Valentin Jr. (Teresita), Osias, Norberto (Cristina) and Hermendes (Estrella); cousins, Corazon Cornista Reyes and Norma Cornista; in-laws, Melba, Carmen (Juanito) Alimangohan, Cecilia Pascua, Tomas dela Cruz and Jose dela Cruz Jr.; and David Candin close family friend. Rafael was predeceased by his father Valentin Sr.; and brothers, Eddie and Romulo. Rafael was born in Jaro Leyte October 25, 1942. He came to Canada in 1983 to join his wife Natividad. Rafael worked at Standard Aero and Brookwhite Insulations. His family would like to express their gratitude to Seven Oaks Hospital, Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital. Special thanks to Othello Rico for his unending help and support to the family. Lamay will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints corner of London and Concordia. Interment to follow at Thomson "in the Park" Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. 204-586-8044
