Date of Passing: Dec 19, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLENN CHARLES CRAVE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, papa, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, Glenn Charles Crave, on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Gimli Betel, at the age of 87 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; son Peter (Tammy), grandsons Ryan and Michael; son Edward (Sherry), granddaughters Jayden and Addison; daughter Julie (Steve), granddaughters Grayce and Leah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Gilhert and Olga Crave, and siblings Donald, Luella (Vic), Eula (Chummy) and Jean (Walter). Glenn was born in Bromhead, SK then later settled in Lillisve, MB. After leaving Lillisve, Glenn then moved to Winnipeg Beach in 1976 where he raised his family and stayed there until he moved to Gimli Betel in 2011. Glenn dedicated his life to hard work. He farmed for many years, worked construction for Nelson River Construction, worked for Natural Resources in Winnipeg Beach, and built piers for C&K Pier Builders. In Glenn's spare time he enjoyed collecting antiques and unique treasures while going to many garage and auction sales. He was an avid recycler and made many creations from bird houses and carts to folk art pieces. Glenn had a true love for the outdoors. He planted hundreds of trees and spent numerous hours in his gardens. And most of all he enjoyed good company. A good cup of coffee and conversation was always welcomed. For all of his great achievements in life, his family, especially his grandchildren, were the most important to him. Special thanks to neighbours Peter and Audrey for all your help and support. Thanks to all the staff at the Gimli Betel for your wonderful and compassionate care. Also sincere thanks to daughter-in-law Sherry for everything you did for Glenn. It was appreciated more than you'll ever know. And thanks to Mom for your strength over the last few years. A private memorial will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Gimli Betel Home Foundation. Hard working hands finally laid to rest. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

My Dear Sister Debbie, Pete, Ed and Julie, and grand kids, when I sit and think about Glenn, many things come to mind. His hard work with N R construction and coming home to rest and be with you. All smiles and laughs. Then Parks, the beach grounds never looked as good after Glenn retired. His gardens, trees and his never ending collection and repair of all manner of delightful items. His hot toast with slices of butter and hot hot coffee off the saucer. Always liked to visit and laugh. One of his last visits to our farm just happened to be in late spring before the big hereford bulls went out. They were having a shove match and Glenn thoroughly enjoyed the show!! He especially loved when his grand kids visited. He will be thought of often and missed. I have many fond memories of Uncle Glenn sipping coffee from the saucer, crossing his legs and wrapping them around each other, letting us play in his hay stack, always coming home with fresh partridge that Grandma made into a cream sauce with leftsa and his awesome wedding celebration during a late October snow storm to his wonderful wife Debbie who gave him three wonderful children and grandchildren. Rest in peace Uncle Glenn - Posted by: Cindy & Floyd Thorkelson (Niece ) on: Dec 23, 2014
