  • I lived with uncle Neil and aunt Fern for several years. We did not always see eye to eye and we lost touch over the years .I always respected my aunt and uncle. I found this by accident. Life works in funny ways sometimes. May they both rest in peace. - Posted by: Maurice Pelletier (Uncle) on: Dec 27, 2014

  • I grew up in northern Manitoba and remember Judge Macphee. My parents built a cottage at Setting Lake, 60 miles south of Thompson, MB that the judge and his wife bought from them. I remember Fern was very french and the judge was a quiet man. I chatted with my mom tonight and she remembers my dad, Davy Crockett, travelling the cat train to and from Churchill with him. My Dad apparently enjoyed telling the story of how when they were leaving Churchill, the judge was on the back of the train (CABOOSE) with him and told Dad what a beautiful sight it was........Churchill disappearing in the distance. My father-in-law, Ken Cuthbert also remembered the judge as he used to fly him and the court crew in and out of northern Manitoba reserves. He told me tonight that he was never aware of the judg'es military history, and being a military buff, he was sorry he missed that opportunity to talk to him about it. He also remembered him as a great passenger who loved being in the air and never complained when he had to divert due to weather. Rest in peace sir, and thank you for those 34 missions and your contribution to the development of northern Manitoba. Some of us do remember. - Posted by: Shawn Crockett (family friend) on: Dec 27, 2014

  • He encouraged me to go into law and practice in The Pas saying the more lawyers in town the more business there is. Spent many a good conversation with him. - Posted by: Evans and Mardene Premachuk (Friends) on: Dec 26, 2014

  • Judge MACPHEE presided in Thompson, Manitoba while a member of the Provincial Court of Manitoba. He was a judge who presented with a gruff exterior but he will be remembered as a kind-hearted man with a keen sense of humour. Rest in peace, your honour. - Posted by: Ken Champagne (Chief Judge Provincial Court of Manitoba) on: Dec 24, 2014
