I worked with Dolly (as we fondly called her) for many years on evenings, what a sweet presence and beacon of comfort she was to all of us nurses as we went about our work, many times very stressed, and there she was, ready to encourage us, comfort us, and offer her great smile of kindness. Did she ever tell you the story of how we honoured her anniversary at the HSC with a night at the Assiniboia Downs race track in Winnipeg and we dedicated a race in her honour as the Dolly Polson Stakes! It was posted on the marquee, and I don't know if she ever forgave us, as she was such an unassuming person, and here we made all this fuss! But I think secretly she knew how important she was to us. May she rest in PEACE! Denise - Posted by: Denise Cyr-Gander (Dansereau) (co- worker Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg Manitoba) on: Dec 27, 2014
