KENNETH VICTOR SMITH
Born: Dec 20, 1962
Date of Passing: Dec 28, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH VICTOR SMITH December 20, 1962 - December 28, 2014 It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Ken, who will be lovingly remembered and so deeply missed by his beloved wife Leslie, of 26 years, two beautiful daughters, Britney Lee, 24 and Alexi Jade, 19 (Tyler). Ken will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Bob (Pat), sister, Judy (Bill) Oliver, niece Nicole (Max), nephew Mark (Tammy), as well as sister-in-law Leah (Kevin) Erickson, and nephews Brett and Landon. Ken was born and raised in Winnipeg. In his early years he was an excellent painter for Security Decorating. He owned and operated two successful Robin's Donuts outlets and then moved on to start his career with the MLCC in November 1998 until furthering into a management position. Ken was a wonderful husband and devoted father to his two girls. He loved cooking and barbecuing for his family and many friends. Ken loved all animals especially his feline friends. He was a fun, loving, generous, caring person - always willing to lend a hand or an ear to whoever needed it most. Ken enjoyed hockey, curling, fishing, boating and traveling; especially to Mazatlan where he and his family were planning on returning to in March. The pain of losing you is excruciating and indescribable. We don't know how we will go on without you, but we know you will give us strength and guidance when we need it most. A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations are kindly asked to be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Winnipeg Pet Rescue No-Kill Shelter. Always in our hearts and never forgotten. Until we meet again. 204-586-8044

My sincere condolences go out to the Smith family. I had the pleasure to work with Ken at the LC on ellice. I used to listen to his great stories and how proudly talked of his wife and kids. Last time I seen him was at Wpg Beach this past summer, and the smile on his face watching his family is unforgettable. Ken was and is a beautiful soul. He was such an easy person to talk to. He will be in our hearts forever, with many beautiful memories, one of which was when he purchased my mother's car for his daughter when she started driving. He is one of God's angels now, and I totally believe he will watch over his beautiful wife and daughters till they met again. Les, Brit, Lexi: our sincerest condolences. Words cannot ever take away the hurt nor provide you comfort. Ken/your dad will be with you always. Amanda considered Ken her second daddy as she was growing up and Ken treated her as if she was his own including her in your family time. Corey also has fond memories of Ken. Ken/your dad was an awesome person and always willing to share his love. - Posted by: Wendy & Glen Curtis (friends/former neighbors) on: Jan 02, 2015

I knew 'Kenny' only as a feisty little boy - regrettably, the result of distance (Prairies-West Coast), the treadmill that life can be, and the fact that my counsins count is 52. Ken's Mom, Helen (who also was taken at a young age), was the youngest sister of my Father, Johnny Lenoski. I see a lot of Ken's Dad, my Uncle Vic, in his photo: zest for the awesome things of life, and for people. My heartfelt condolences to all the Family. God Bless! - Posted by: Gerry Lenoski (Cousin) on: Jan 02, 2015

Ken was a truly respected and loved human being. Charismatic, loyal and honest, he Was a great person with a large personality, smile and sense of humour. Ken was not only an amazing father, he was an amazing husband and friend. Ken was around to help my family when we were in such a similar hard times. He was the first person to offer his help at any cost when my dad got sick, he was the first person at the hospital too. Sadly he was also the last. To be honest, a lot of the time he was the only friend who was around though the thick and thin. I've respected and admired that about Ken just as my Dad did and that is a trait I will continue to posses for the entirety of my life. I'm with hopes that Ken knew this and his family should take pride in remembering how important of a person he was not only to them but to people as simple as me. I'll forever respect Ken and the life he lived. He was a genuine person whom I always enjoyed. It's so tragic to see you go big guy. You will be dearly missed - not just by your beautiful wife and daughters... But by the people lucky enough to be able to call you a friend. Say hey to Grant for me. Rest easy friend. Love you Brit, Lex and Leslie. - Posted by: Jordan Brown (and family) (Family friends ) on: Jan 02, 2015

I had known Ken for almost 12 years now. He was BY FAR one of my favourite store employees in the entire Liquor Commission. Those who didn't know Ken sincerely missed out. I had a typical conversation with Ken on Christmas Eve as per usual and he always treated me with the utmost respect throughout my time dealing with him at whatever store was lucky enough to have him aboard. Ken always gave me the highest courtesy as a liquor rep in all of my years dealing with him. When I caught word of the sad news on the way to a Jets game Monday night, I nearly steered my truck into a curb. I was devastated. Literally devastated. I had no words. I had JUST spoken with Ken only days earlier. I can't believe what a rip off it is to hear that Ken is gone. From the bottom of my heart I will miss him in my weekly life and can only imagine what a hole is left in those who beloved him in their daily life. My thoughts go out to Ken's entire family for this terrible loss. I will hold his memory dear to me forever. Cheers to you Ken...you were the top tier! - Posted by: Darren Ford (Friend / work ) on: Jan 01, 2015

Leslie, Brit and Lexi.....Ken's angels. Now he is yours. I am so sorry for your profound loss. I wish I could say something that would take your hurt away, even if it's just for a minute. But there are no magical words...just the magic of memories, and you have so many wonderful ones together. Find strength in your love, and the love of family and friends. You're nowhere near as alone as you feel. Deepest condolences to Ken's extended family as well. He was such a lucky man to have been loved by so many. Safe travels Ken. - Posted by: Karen Perez (friend) on: Dec 31, 2014

I have known Ken for about 15 or more years! First day I meet him at a store long before he became an assistant mgr! I will remember every store he worked at and all the epic conversations. Just plain fun at work, His presence in my life will be sorely missed. I looked forward to seeing him and talking to him every week! We have shared much over the years! His calm, easy going demeanor, his smile and a willingness to always listen and help while working when I came into the store to work with him. An amazing man will be missed by me!
