BRUCE LORNE CLARK
Date of Passing: Dec 28, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRUCE LORNE CLARK On a beautiful sunny morning on August 21, 1958, in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Bruce arrived to the world. His proud parents Bill and Anne Clark had been awaiting his arrival along with five other siblings. All the brothers and sisters stood outside the hospital so Mom could show off their beautiful new son and baby brother through the window. He was truly handsome with blond hair and blue eyes. In the small town of Lynn Lake he was certainly a hit. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1959 and settled in Transcona where Bruce attended various schools, and where he made some lifelong friends. Bruce possessed a remarkable intelligence which enabled him to apply his many talents to many fields of work: in the heavy construction industry, oil field and pipeline, large mining and hydro electric projects, forestry and conservation, and forest fire fighting as a bird dog officer. There was nothing he couldn't do well. He had such a terrific mind and gifted hand. He loved the outdoors and possessed a great respect for nature. Nature inspired him and is passionately reflected in all of his truly amazing artwork and writing. Bruce had beating within him a heart of gold and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to help his family and friends. He loved life, which gave him two beautiful children Michael and Melissa whom he loved deeply. They meant absolutely everything to him. Over the years the work took a heavy toll on his body which caused him considerable chronic pain. He learned to live with it and kept working in spite of it. He was not one to quit and he used his art to find the solitude he longed for. Those who knew him understood his capacity for persistence and patience. On his final day he brought to our attention a picture of an eagle he had very recently drawn. By far the best piece he has ever done. It celebrates his spirit and his longing to be free. Bruce found his wings and freedom on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at the age of 56. Bruce was predeceased by his father William in 1986, and lost his mom to a tragic car accident in 1997. Bruce deeply missed them the rest of his life. He is survived by his two children Michael (Megan) and Melissa of Nanaimo, and grandchildren Austin, Evania and Dylan, sister Jo-anne Clark of Vancouver, Jim Clark (Sharon) of Soldotna, Alaska, Allan Clark (Lynn) of Seattle, Bonnie Clark of Winnipeg, and Bill Clark (Merrill) of Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all. Now at peace, his soul is at wing, no weary trials and burdens for caring. In silence he suffered, in patience he bore, till God called him home, to suffer no more. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg. Those choosing to donate can do so to the charity of their choice. A beautiful tribute to Bruce in today's paper. I am so saddened to hear of Bruce's passing and I know I know how heart broken you are Bonnie. While I hadn't seen Bruce for several years until recently, he always greeted me so warmly and with a great big smile whenever I did run into him. He was just a baby when your family moved to Transcona from Lynn Lake and I'm sure my youngest brothers Gavin and Guy got into a bit of kid trouble with Bruce seeing as how they were all roughly the same age. I'm sure your Mom and Dad have him wrapped in their arms right now.....Sincere condolences to all of the Clark family including Bruce's children and also Wendy in the loss of this beautiful man. He will be forever remembered and forever missed. - Posted by: Pat Fortescue (Friend of the Clark family.) on: Jan 03, 2015

God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be, he put his arms around my dad and said come with me. Although he loved us dearly, god could not let you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, those hard working hands finally at rest. God broke my heart just to prove he takes the best. May you rest in peace in heaven. You will be forever missed...I love you daddy so much. No words can express the emotions running through your loved ones. R.i.P beautiful angel. We all love you - Posted by: Melissa clark (Daughter) on: Jan 03, 2015
