Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • We remember our cousin David from when we were young teenagers. We thought he was the handsomest, coolest guy we had ever seen. He was so full of life and fun to be around. Wish we would have had the opportunity to see him when we visited Winnipeg and Garson. We are so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in your memories. • I had the honour of Working with Dave Galka at the City of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department. Dave was kind and funny. He did his work so well and with great professionalism. He solved many problems for us. Dave had a sign in his office "Everyone who visits me in this office makes me happy, some when they come in and some when they leave." I always hoped to the former. He was a great man. We miss him. - Posted by: Barry MacBride (Coworker) on: Jan 06, 2015

  • My uncle was truly one of a kind. He was always there to help when someone needed help, he was kind, funny and loving and very giving of his time and love. He could be very stern when needed, but even then you felt his love for you. I will miss him very much. I know that he is now at peace, not feeling any pain and I hope that he is happy. I love you Unk, you will be forever in my heart. - Posted by: Tammie Bedard (Niece) on: Jan 03, 2015

  • Dad was larger than life. Having his strong presence gone from our lives leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. He took great pride in his home, his cars, and his relationships with everyone he cared about. He had a wonderful sense of humor that I loved... I can't sum up the life and love of my Dad in a few lines. Nor will these few lines ever be enough to convey the utter sense of loss and grief I feel. I only hope that through the lifetime of love he gave, that somehow I can find some sense of comfort and solace. And through the strength he showed, let that inspire me to find my own strength to pick myself up and go on. I love you Daddy. And I miss you more than words can ever express. - Posted by: Deneene Galka (Daughter) on: Jan 03, 2015

  • My father was the most amazing father anyone could ever ask for. He had the most giving heart and had so much love to give. This has been the most devastating loss I have ever experienced and I don't know what we are going to do without him. My heart now has a huge hole. He has touched so many lives and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Even though life has to go on, I can't imagine what it is going to be like without him. I miss you desperately Daddy. But you are at peace now. I will love you forever and you will be in my heart always. - Posted by: Tacy Smith (Daughter) on: Jan 02, 2015
