Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL JOYCE COURT (nee CAWSON) It is with great sadness and fond memories that the family of Muriel announces her passing on December 23, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Donald in 1999, her sister Mary and brother-in-law Laverne Williams, brother Charles and sister-in-law Florence Cawson, and nephew Allan Court. Muriel leaves behind her daughter Linda, son Randy (Jeanine), grandchildren Gary and Tracy, and son Doug (Cathy), grandchildren Rory and Chelsea, as well as one brother Frank (Lilly) Cawson of Selkirk, and brother-in-law Ed (Jane) Court of Winnipeg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Muriel was born February 13, 1926 in Selkirk, MB to Samuel and Emily Cawson, the youngest of four children. She attended U of M, receiving a Bachelor of Science and later working at the Red Cross lab in Winnipeg. She met Donald and they married in 1948 and raised their three children in East Kildonan, where she resided until her passing. In their early years, Mom and Dad loved to travel and took the family on many memorable trips. They spent their summers at West Hawk Lake, initially in the trailer park and later built their own cottage where the family spent many of their summers, soon becoming their second home. Mom was Dad's right hand doing the finances for their business. She had a passion for the outdoors and a love of nature. She enjoyed doing carpentry work, sewing and knitting, and as the grandchildren got involved in sports, she attended many events and was their biggest fan. Mom loved her Newfoundland dogs. She had one as a child, and two more over the years, and they went with her everywhere. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Newf Rescue Inc., Unit 91, 925 Bayly Street, Pickering, ON L1W 1L4 www.canadiannewfrescue.ca The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital and the Misericordia Interim Care Health Centre for their care and compassion. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place on January 27, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Larters at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club, 30 River Road, St. Andrews, MB.
