HERTA JEAN WACH
Born: Dec 31, 1932
Date of Passing: Dec 29, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERTA JEAN WACH (LAWRENCE) (nee BRACHMAN) Late in the afternoon of December 29, 2014, Herta peacefully passed away at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre, with family at her bedside. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Deen (Michael) Rudyk; daughter-in-law Peggy (Jeff) Lawrence; granddaughter Carla (BJ) Funk, and their daughter Sarah; grandson Kevin Lawrence; sisters Edith Onofreychuk and Florence Enns; brother Richard (Mary); sisters-in-law Laura (Gordon) Brachman and Rose (Allan) Brachman, and many nieces, nephews, and old friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband Stan, son Jeff, parents Rudolph and Pauline, and brothers Harold, Allan and Gordon. All will be welcoming her with open arms and many hugs. Precious pets Copper and Lucky will be waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. Mom was born December 31, 1932, in Malanton, MB, where she was raised on the family farm, and where she developed her hardworking and determined character. At age 15, she boarded a train for Winnipeg and began her working life, first as a counter clerk at a pharmacy on Main Street; then as a waitress in the restaurant at the Union Centre for several years, and finally as a baker at Canada Safeway. In 1984, Mom married Stan Wach and they enjoyed a lot of happy adventures together, along with their little dog Lucky, travelling to Brownsville, Texas for many winters. They also enjoyed their nightly campfires at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach. Mom was a kind and generous person, as well as a skilled and avid gardener; always sharing the harvest with family and neighbours. We greatly appreciated the care given and kindness shown to Mom by Dr. Tim Ross and all the staff at Golden Door Geriatric Centre, during her stay there. Cremation has already taken place. A small family gathering will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers and cards, please consider a donation to any "No Kill" animal care shelter.

We meet Herta since my aunt is in The Golden Door as well. She was a friend to my aunt and we enjoyed her company when we visited there. She enjoyed her daughter bringing her the Hello magazines to read. Good memories. - Posted by: Barbara Brass (friend) on: Jan 06, 2015

I, Nadia, knew Herta as a sister-in-law to my aunt Mary Wach. Herta and her late husband Stan were very generous to Mary and to me when I visited Winnipeg. Rest in peace Herta. Our condolences to her family. - Posted by: Nadia and Harold Trafananko () on: Jan 03, 2015
