FLORENCE RADCLIFFE
Date of Passing: Dec 27, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE RADCLIFFE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mom on December 27, 2014, at the age of 93 years. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jacqueline Miller (Keith), grandchildren Jonathan and Jennifer (Luke), great-grandchildren Riley, Mason and Elijah, sisters Margaret Johanson, Irene Altenburg (Julien) and Delores Fleury, niece Dolly Meldrum (Bill), along with a great number of nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Don Radcliffe, her parents Henriette and Frank Ranville, sisters Mary Meldrum, Alice Ranville, Rose Morrisseau, Theresa Ranville and Annette Neault and brothers Joseph, Emile, Daniel, Frank Jr., Leo, Fred, George, Elie, Ernie, Carl and Thomas. On July 2, 1957, Mom received her diploma in hairdressing and promptly opened her first salon and barbershop on Pembina Hwy. which she owned and operated until 1961. Mom and Dad then moved back to their home in Riverview to raise their daughter and Mom continued to hairdress in the basement salon. In 1967 Mom opened a new salon on South Osborne Street which she owned and operated until she semi-retired in 1975. Dad and Mom had a long and wonderful 60 year marriage which was spent always together in all their endeavours. Our fondest memories will be of time spent at our cottage at Dorothy Lake where Mom and Dad enjoyed gardening and seemed to always be "gone fishin". When Dad retired in 1984 they became snowbirds and spent many winters in the southern United States. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 9, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Memorial Church, 254 Arnold Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., following the reception. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of CD2 at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4. To my Mom Mom you meant the world to me. It's hard to live without you now. You were always by my side. Now that you're gone it's hard to think about anything but you. Even though your love will shine in me forever. It's still hard not to look for your hand to hold. Even though you're not here with me in the flesh. I still have you in my heart and in my memories. I will love you forever Mom Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I can remember having my hair cut at the salon on Pembina Hwy. and taking Jackie swimming at Ft Garry pool when she was a little girl. She was the cutest little girl. My Mom, Marjorie, ( called Marge) and I, had two wonderful visits with Don and Flo, after my Mom came out to live in B.C. Every summer, we would go back to visit friends and family in Winnipeg. Flo was a wonderful cook, and made us what my mom called, "Thanks-giving dinners" , when ever we came to visit. - Posted by: Joy Mowat nee' Greenaway (Don and Flo were my uncle and aunt. Don was my mother's (Marjorie, nee' Radcliffe) older brother.) on: Jan 11, 2015

Condolences to you Jackie and your family. Remembering when auntie cut my hair in her basement salon...a tiny girl sitting under the huge hair dryer. A stack of books were needed so that I could dry my hair. Fond memories. - Posted by: Debbie Ranville (Niece (daughter of George Ranville)) on: Jan 08, 2015
