NORMA JOAN HARWOOD
Born: Sep 24, 1934
Date of Passing: Dec 27, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA JOAN HARWOOD (BRIDGES) September 24, 1934 - December 27, 2014 It is with great sadness we say goodbye to this terrific lady on December 27, 2014 at the age of 80. Norma was predeceased by her husband Bob. She is survived by daughter Joni (Wayne), grandson Robert, and several other family members and friends. Norma was born in Cartwright, MB to Lewis and Dot Bridges. A lot of good times were spent at Cartwright and Rock Lake. Norma moved to Winnipeg and worked for the Imperial Bank of Commerce. She also met her husband Bob in Winnipeg. Norma was an avid golfer, curler and fisherman. She belonged to the Assiniboine Golf Club where she won the ladies championship, not once but twice. She curled for years at the Granite and Thistle Curling Clubs (she won an eight-ender at the Thistle). Many holidays she travelled abroad to Barbados, England, Spain, Hawaii and other destinations. Thanks to Dr. Jowett and Agnes, you have been so good to our family over the years. Thanks to the nursing staff at Health Sciences Centre, you were so good to Norma in her last days on earth. To my Mum - "Being an only child, you spoiled me rotten! Robert, being your only grandchild, you spoiled him rotten too! I wish heaven had a telephone because I want to give you a dingle right now and tell you how much I love and miss you." Joni In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. No service will be held at the request of the family.

Dear Joni, Cam and I will always remember your mother as a positive outgoing person. She was a wonderful skip, & my Mum, Enid, loved curling with her, your grandma & Ida all those years at the Granite & Thistle - especially winning the 8Ender. My Dad & Mum also loved all the times Norma would meet them with Dot for lunches at various spots in Winnipeg. There were lots of good visits with her on Minto Street too. Our heartfelt condolences go to you, Wayne and Robert at this time. Love, Jeri & Cam Breckman - Posted by: Jerilynne Breckman (Cousin) on: Jan 05, 2015

It is so sad to have Norma leave us. Norma often cared for me as a child and I loved her like a mother. She will be missed greatly by me and all who knew her. Growing up I called her Aunt Norma, and she always made me feel included and loved. - Posted by: Scott Boxshall (Cousin) on: Jan 03, 2015
