Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS CONWAY (SHAVENTOSKI) On December 9, 2014, Uncle Nick quietly slipped away from St. Boniface Hospital for his final road trip. His loving wife predeceased him on October 8, 1974, as well as his brothers Peter and Michael Shaventoski and sister Clara Ptosnick. He is survived by son Brian and many nieces and nephews. Uncle Nick was born on January 25, 1919 in Thornhill, MB. He worked different jobs in and around Morden. Uncle Nick enlisted on April 14, 1941 and served with the R.C.M.E. in Canada, England, Italy, Belgium, France and Germany. Towards the end of the war, his Regiment was stationed in Holland. Uncle Nick repaired tanks and other vehicles. He was discharged on March 5, 1946. Uncle Nick and Aunt Helen moved to Winnipeg. He worked for Sears for 30 years in the Service Department. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
