Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HENRY GAUER September 18, 1942 - January 3, 2015 It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of George Gauer our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. George leaves behind the love of his life, his wife and best friend Dorothy; his daughters Jane (Chris), Megan (Scott), Colleen (Trent), Kelly (Maurizio), Karen (Jon); his grandchildren Ryan, Noah, Afton, Nic and Nigel; his sister Brenda Standing and brother Alec (Winifred) Gauer. George was born and raised in Winnipeg where he worked for 41 years as a Land Surveyor for the Manitoba government following in his father's footsteps. He spent many great summers as a young boy with his family building their cottage at Falcon Lake. In his later years he was able to spend his time sharing the cottage with Dorothy as well as his family and friends. George loved to travel and enjoyed his retirement winters in Yuma, AZ. George was always a true gentleman. He will always be loved, never forgotten and forever missed. A celebration of life will be held later this spring. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the nurses and doctors at Victoria Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victoria Hospital Foundation. Dear Dorothy and family it was with great sadness that we learnt of dear George's passing. I (Dave) have shared a lot of fun, laughter and over 25 years of great memories with dear George. He was A great co-worker and a well respected member of the Highways Tuesday Night Golf League. George was a really good guy with his unique character and great sense of humour endearing him to all, both at work and in the golf league. Even though he did not win as many golf games as he would have liked George was indeed a winner to all of us in the golf league in every sense of the word...he will be greatly missed but never forgotten. God bless and please know that you in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Sincere condolences……Dave and Kandia Barham PS Percy Cadman also sends his condolences - Posted by: Dave Barham (Former work colleague and fellow Highway'sTuesday Night Golf League Member) on: Jan 14, 2015
