Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES LINDSAY MORRIS November 26, 1951 - January 6, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Lindsay Morris on January 6, 2015. Jim passed away at home at the age of 63, after a battle with cancer. He will be missed by his wife of forty-two years Brenda, mother Margaret, children Bryan (Pam), Greg (Courtney), and grandchildren Evan, Marlies, Brady and Coleton. Born in Winnipeg in 1951, Jim spent summers at Matlock, which is where he got his passion for the outdoors. In 1970 Jim and Brenda met, and after many Friday night pizza dates, they got married in 1972. In 1985 Jim and Brenda moved the family to West St. Paul, where he became a proud member of the West St. Paul Fire department for 12 years. After a 36 year career working with CP Rail, Jim took an early retirement and was able to spend his time doing more of what he loved, including: exploring his property, gardening with Brenda, sitting on the deck and socializing with friends. Second only to his family and friends was his lifelong passion of hunting, he spent many falls doing so in Matlock (including his honeymoon). In recent years, Jim looked forward to hosting the summer BBQ with the "Luxton Gang". Jim and Brenda enjoyed their trips to Florida, especially the water parks and Epcot. Jim was a son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was loved and will be missed by all. A celebration of his life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the West St. Paul Fire Department Capital Fundraising Campaign. Donations in the form of a cheque, can be made payable to the RM of West St. Paul, 3550 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. R4A 5A3.

Brenda, Ted and I were so sorry to hear of your loss. We are living in Ontario now. We are in the city today visiting a friend at the hospital and bumped into one of the old, old guys and he told us. I hope that the you get this and know that we're thinking of you and your family. - Posted by: Gracia Tworek () on: Nov 20, 2016

I've been looking for Jim online for years. He was my 1st friend. This is not how I wanted to find him. We both lived on Lansdowne and met with a near bike accident. Never forget him saying "Are you from England driving on the wrong side of the sidewalk" We were so young, 5 or 6, I didn't know where he got that from. Figured it out years later. Matlock and comic books great memories with him. I moved away in our last year in Luxton school but we remained close friends until I moved to Vancouver in 1971. Life has just flown by and I regret not keeping in touch with Jim. I see there is a Luxton gang. Do any of you know me? If so please contact me at smartmeyer62@gmail.com. - Posted by: Art Meyer (friend) on: Nov 05, 2015

Brenda & family Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. Having known Jim for 50 some odd years but reconnecting at the Luxton Reunion & our yearly bbq's (usually at his & Brenda's place, (tradition). We have lost a very special soul & friend. Everyone, for Jim, was always welcome to come & listen to his stories & have great fun & many, many laughs. He will be sorrowly missed. To his mother Marg....I'm am so sorry. You see Jim & I always would ask each other how our mothers were doing as my mother & his worked for years together at Chapman Pharmacy. My mother would always ask me how was Marg doing. My mother has passed now but Jim & I always shared that. May you always rest in peace Jim. - Posted by: Bonnie Cuthbert (Bradley) (A friend & one of the Luxton Gang) on: Jan 14, 2015

Jim was kind enough to stay in touch with me where ever I went and what ever I did, to keep me up to date with the many friends we shared for nearly 50 years, to share what Brenda and "the boys" were up to. And sometimes to ask .... if you see Greg... A lifetime of dumb jokes that made you laugh only because Jim did. Hunting with Jim and seeing how far away you could be and still kill a Poplar sapling with a 10 gauge. A true "Character" and a wonderful friend. Heartfelt sympathies. - Posted by: Alexandra Hudson (Friend) on: Jan 12, 2015
