ELEANOR GATZKE (nee NURENBURG) On December 28, 2014, at the age of 86, our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at Victoria Hospital. Mom was a strong, quiet, hardworking woman who struggled to raise her four children, Beverly, Brian, Wesley, and John on her own and did a great job at it. Mom also has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mom was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having her family over for Sunday suppers. Mom also enjoyed road trips and picnics with her family. Her presence at our family gatherings will be dearly missed. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in respect of Mom's wishes. We all love you Mom and will be with you again. Thank you for always being there for us. Its been a hard road for you to travel but now you are - Safely Home. SAFELY HOME I am now at home in heaven: All's so happy, all so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief are over, Every restless tossing past; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the Valley of the Shade? Oh! But Jesus' love illumined Every dark and fearful glade. And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still; Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's will. There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idle stand; Do your work while life remaineth - You shall rest in Jesus' land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you home; Oh, the rapture of the meeting! Oh, the joy to see you come! ------------- Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15 "Because I (Jesus) live, ye shall live also". John 14:19 And so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17
