FRANK (FRANCIS) DE RUYCK It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank De Ruyck on January 9, 2015 at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 69 years. Frank is survived by his beloved wife Nicci (nee Hawkins), sons Ken, Ed (Jill), Collin (Carla), Kirk (Toulany), Tim (Sherry), daughter Danielle (Chris), grandchildren Devin, Jacob, Emma, Mason, Marina, Braden, Andrew, sister Anita, brothers Gerry (Marie Paule), Bert, and numerous extended family members and friends. Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Mona. Frank was born in Swan Lake Manitoba on January 6, 1946. Frank spent his entire life in Manitoba, living in Swan Lake, Thompson, and in Winnipeg since 1997. Frank's working life included several occupations, including dairy farmer, taxi driver, animal control officer, city inspector, restaurant owner, cook, security guard, and school bus driver. Frank's career was spent primarily in the restaurant industry, and he took great pride in his cooking. Spending time with family was very important to Frank, and he very much enjoyed family gatherings. Along with cooking for his family, Frank enjoyed his home and spending time in the yard. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at the Victoria General Hospital. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, Manitoba, interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation.
