I will truly miss you and I will never forget you, I know we weren't really related but you were like a grandpa to me and to be honest your a better grandpa then my own grandpa! I love you and I have cried about your death many times but you are in a better place now. - Posted by: Jay (Sort of my grandpa) on: Jul 13, 2015

My thoughts and prayers to your family. Bill had a special place in our hearts...many fond memories of him at East St. Paul Baptist when we were a young family. He was such an encouragement and always had an optimistic, caring presence. Praying you will experience peace and comfort that only comes from God at this difficult time. - Posted by: Charleen Barkman (Friend ) on: Jan 17, 2015

He was known to me as "Uncle Bill" for most of my life. He and the Giesbrecht family were "family" to me for my formative years. Until I became an adult I didn't realize the deep impact having an awesome extended family would mean. I am filled with hope because uncle Bill is now in the arms of Jesus and we'll see him again. My heart is saddened for the whole Giesbrecht clan, for the loss of a good man like him is not easily absorbed. Love, Allan & Kim de Kluyver - Posted by: Allan deKluyver (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2015

We are grieved for the Giesbrecht family. Our thoughts and prayers for peace and healing for you. Our lives have been very blessed to have Mr. G in our lives. I can say for all of us boys growing up under the guidance of the men of ESP Baptist that we had some great role models that have shaped us into the men we are today. So many great memories that will not be forgotten: canoe trips, camping, church picnics at Birds Hill and tons of time at the Giesbrecht household with Mike and the clan. Mr G, along with others like George Felbell and my dad, helped us discover what it meant to be men, and I am so greatfull for all the love and patience they had with us. Mr Giesbrecht will be remembered and greatly missed. He's probably sitting in a boat with dad fishing and getting caught up on what heaven is like! We look forward to seeing him again!! - Posted by: Larry & Marla de Kluyver (Friend of the family) on: Jan 17, 2015

I speak for everyone at Keewatin when I say that Bill was a great mentor to all of us at times in our lives. Our deepest sympathy to Liz and the family. I know for the time we spent together on jobs and talking about fishing it is a blessing to have known him. His attitude towards life will last in my life forever and I am truly grateful. - Posted by: Chris Zacharias (Friend/co-worker) on: Jan 17, 2015

I will always treasure the families we grew up with and the Giesbrecht family is one of them. As kids we grew up knowing the love of our parents, but also the love of our friends' parents. I always thought a great big youth group must be the best, and as the years have gone by, I have learned how valuable it was to come from a small church and small youth group, surrounded by loving adults like the Giesbrechts. Those days at East St. Paul Baptist Church were foundational in my growing faith, and I appreciate so much the strong faith modelled for me by Bill and Liz. I remember well the hard work behind so many church projects and the investment of time they shared with me as a young person. Our family loved Mr. Giesbrecht, and we send our deepest sympathies to each family member. - Posted by: Lois (Hayko) Van Roon (friends of the family) on: Jan 16, 2015

Our sympathies and prayers are with you in your loss of husband, father, grandfather, etc. One comment I remember Liz making about Bill many years ago was," When he comes home from being on the truck driving long distance, I can do no wrong!" It told me something about his love for you, Liz and it touched me. - Posted by: Bill & Helen Penner Braun (cousin to Liz) on: Jan 16, 2015

Speaking for my Father Elmer, Bill was a friend and a relative that shared a passion for hunting and fishing which also included his Brother Richard. Bill's early years at my Grandfather's garage Wiebe Bros was a beginning for my brother Sheldon who Bill taught about being a Mechanic. Bill was a wonderful person, thoughtful and caring, as my father is in the hospital, he gave myself and family, words of hope for stroke recovery and talked of the "Enns" family curse of heart problems, I am saddened of this news. My thoughts are with Liz and the children and grandchildren he loved dearly. "We" the Enns Family will miss Bill and as I always considered him as "My Uncle Willie" - Posted by: ELMER AND DOREEN AND COLLEEN ENNS AND FAMILY (1st Cousin and Friend) on: Jan 16, 2015

Bill's passing is a very sad day for us. He was always there to help with anything we needed and he assisted in keeping our children on the "straight and narrow" path in the teen years. One great guy. John & Gloria Anderson - Posted by: John & Gloria Anderson (friends) on: Jan 15, 2015
