NORMAN EDWARD ROUSSEAU Born December 6, 1928 - St. Boniface, MB Passed Away January 13, 2015 - Edmonton, AB Norman moved from Winnipeg to Edmonton in his late teens. In 1951 he began a lifelong career in the heavy earth moving construction business, and did many projects throughout Alberta. He loved his work and conducted business right up until a few years ago. He was a proud Edmontonian and gave generously to many Edmonton charities. He was committed to his family and for many years took a leadership role in overseeing his younger sister Eva's well being in Vancouver. Norman was extremely independent but never reclusive. He loved to be around people and had a large group of friends and family that he maintained regular contact through visits and weekly phone calls. His life experiences and extensive travels fuelled his gift for story telling, especially over a rum and coke or glass of wine. He always had words of wisdom and adventure for all of the younger relatives and was interested in their achievements. Sadly those weekly phone calls will be missed. Norman was predeceased by his father, Hermas; mother, Rena, and brother, Henry. He will be mourned by many friends and family members, mainly his brother, Fred (Thuyhang); sister Eva; nieces and nephews, Joan Rousseau, Julie Rousseau (Bruce), John Rousseau, Jennifer (Peter) Lubey, Jane (Joe) Greene; and the Winnipeg family, Laura (Gary) Anning, Danny Rousseau, David Rousseau, Christopher (Judy) Rousseau and their mother, Nancy Rousseau, all of his great-nieces and nephews, and cousins in Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Paul's High School, 2200 Grant Avenue. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 520 Osborne Street.
