ALICE EVANS (OSADCHUK)
Date of Passing: Jan 15, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE EVANS (nee OSADCHUK) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mom and Baba on January 15, 2015 at Meadowood Manor just nine days short of her 89th birthday. She leaves to mourn her children, Clif (Linda), Lorna, Randy (Darcia), grandchildren Jamie Biebrick (Morgan), Tyler Evans (Jenn), Kelsey Evans, and Marissa Evans. Also her brothers Mike Osadchuk (Evelyn) of Deroche, BC, Peter Osadchuk (Lorraine), Ted Osadchuk (Elaine), sister-in-law Martha Osadchuk, Jamie's dad Don Biebrick and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Mary Osadchuk, sister Stella Yancentiuk (Nick), brother Paul Osadchuk, and sister Ann Verestiuk (John). A long-time resident in Transcona, Mom will be remembered by customers of the original Dal's Restaurant where she worked from its opening day until it closed. Mom lived at Columbus Villa for several years before ill health forced her to relocate. She was an independent, determined woman who enjoyed her bingo, bowling and cribbage. Many thanks to the staff of Cornish 6 at Misericordia Hospital where Mom lived for over a year before being placed at Meadowood Manor. Although not there very long, Meadowood staff showed her great kindness and compassion which our family greatly appreciated. Funeral service to be held at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St., Transcona, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing half an hour prior to service. Interment to take place January 21, 2015 at Glen Lawn Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204-224-1525

I'm so sad to hear this. I used to play table bowling with her and the other residents in the long term care unit. Alice would love to play table bowling whenever asked and she'd always end up winning against the other residents. I loved her personality and her funny jokes. She was a lovely lady to know. - Posted by: Tristan Malcolm (Volunteer on Cornish C6 at Misericordia Health Centre) on: Jul 11, 2015
