  • I first got to know Blair growing up in Windsor Park in Winnipeg. We were teammates playing soccer at Winakwa Community Club and then original team members at Fort Rouge United after we turned 18. That was a team like no other we had ever played for. No superstars but a camaraderie and bond unlike anything we had experienced before. Blair was a huge part of that and we were all best friends at that time. We moved up through the divisions, played in tournaments in Minneapolis, Thunder Bay and Winnipeg, went camping on week-ends and of course beers after practices and games. We were all inseparable and enjoyed a lot of successes on the soccer field. On every team there is always a core group of 5 or 6 players that all activities revolved around or started with. Blair was definitely part of that core. I think Blair would agree, we had a lot of good times playing on that team. Some of us from that team still get together for beers every 3 months or so and at the next outing we will definitely hoist and have a beer for you. Rest in peace buddy, Your teammates - Posted by: Rick Sloboda () on: Jan 23, 2015
