ANNE SPELMER (nee Bartman) January 25, 1919 - January 18, 2015 Peacefully on January 18, just shy of her 96th birthday our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre. She'll be forever missed by daughter Jo-Anne (Jack Macey), son Bill, son Rodger (Jo-Ann), grandchildren Jeff (Laura), Jason (Elaine), Jody (Simon), Tara (Dave), Chris (Krista), and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lauren, Chloe, Ava, Jaxon, Chanelle and Caleb. Anne is survived by her sister and best friend Kay Kilchiski. Mom was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Lorraine (Spelmer) in 2013 and granddaughter Kim (Spelmer) in 2010. Mom came from humble beginnings but always remained a lady of elegance who offered unconditional love to all she knew. There was an inner strength to Mom that allowed her to remain independent and completely self-sufficient to the end. She lived gracefully even while overcoming a mastectomy at age 85. Mom loved nothing better than cooking family dinners. Famous for her perogies, holupchi, and apple pie she was a master at creating an exquisite dining experience from scratch. Mom was an amazing lady who enriched everyone's life she met. She possessed that most rare gift of making all those who came in contact with her a better person. Thanks to the doctors and nurses at GB3 and ER at Health Sciences for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation, on Anne's behalf, to the Heart and Lung Association Canada. Goodbye my family, my life is past I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take Love for each other, for my sake And know those you love don't go away They walk beside you each and every day. I know how much you loved me, As much as I loved you. And each time you think of me I know you will miss me too. So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think that we are apart, For everytime you think of me I'll be right here in your heart.
