Date of Passing: Jan 19, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD (DUNC) GEORGE DUNCAN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing our beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the young age of 84. Harold (Dunc) was predeceased by his father George, mother Jessie, and sisters Eve and Donna, and survived by his sister Geri. Dunc is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Lillian, daughters, Bonnie (Timm) and Kathy (Ian), son, Todd (Barb), grandchildren Duncan, Miranda, Shaelynn, Serena, Brock, Kaitlin and Kyra, along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Harold was born in Winnipeg on November 4, 1930, and purchased his home in Transcona in 1956 in which he raised his family. He was a loving, dedicated husband, a sharing and committed father, and great friend. Dad worked at the Canadian National Railway for most of his early life with a short stint at Griffin Steel and happily retired from the C.N.R. at the age of 62. Through his life he played a number of sports with a passion for curling and golf, over weekend leisure he loved to take the family camping and enjoyed the outdoors - settling each summer at Spruce Sands Resort. He participated and coached in sport with his children and grandchildren as well loved to watch them play hockey, volleyball, basketball, soccer as well dance in the respective arts. Later in life he looked forward to playing bridge and billiards with friends. Thank you Dad for your wisdom and wit as a day never goes by when we don't find a use for it. A celebration of life for family and friends will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204-224-1525

Duncan was a true friend as a fellow curler and long time co-worker as we spent many hours discussing curling in the ola and new Transcona curly ring. I had the opppurtunity to work along side Dunc in the gm shop as well as in th maint. Shop,Duncan great east assets was that he could always see the good side of people and would not have harsh words with fellow competitors or fellow workers. Although I haven't had much contact with him since our retirements,my condolences go out to the family as we will surely miss Harold. Rest well dear friend. - Posted by: Boyd Kramble (Fellow worker and curler) on: Jan 24, 2015
