JEAN HELEN PETERS (nee ALEXANDER) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jean Peters on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Jean was predeceased by her mother Nellie, father George, sister Margaret, brother Jim, and her sister Elsie. Jean is survived by her loving husband Ken, son Sandy, daughter-in-law Kathy, grandchildren Josh (partner Megan), and Evan, sister Betty, sister-in-law Barb, brother-in-law Cliff, sister-in-law Kay, sister-in-law Sharon and her nieces and nephews. Jean was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to entertain guests with her cooking and baking. She was always willing to make each person's favourite at the drop of a hat. She enjoyed political debates, working at Fort Rouge curling club, watching her son play all his sports growing up, babysitting "her boys" (as she called them), shopping for deals and being with her husband and best friend Kenny. Jean was a kind hearted soul who we will miss each and every day. As Jean would say"say see ya." A special thanks to the EMT's and Winnipeg Police Service for their care and understanding. In keeping with Jean's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Kirchhoff Gardens, 1295 Dakota Street from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Jean's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 204-310 Broadway Street, Winnipeg, MB. Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Mrs Peters was a wonderful person. My brother and Sandy were the same age and played all sorts of sports together in Lord Roberts. We lived two houses away from each other on Rathgar, so she and my mom were the best of friends. My favorite memories are of Mrs Peters always having the best treats and snacks to eat when I went over to their house. She was always happy to see me, although I sometimes wonder why. :-) I know Mrs Peters and my mom, dad, brother, and anyone else who wants to show up, are all together now having the best house party ever. She will be missed. My condolences to Mr Peters and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Gary Wilde (Friend) on: Feb 10, 2015

  • Aunt Jean was a very special person who I will greatly miss. From my earliest memories she was always compassionate, loving & supportive. As her life is celebrated today (6 February), I will reflect on all that she gave to each person with whom she came into contact. My heartfelt condolences go to Sandy, Cathy, Josh, Evan & Uncle Ken ...her partner for more than 63 years... Until we see ya again, Aunt Jean ... - Posted by: Robert (Ted) Alexander (Nephew) on: Feb 06, 2015

  • Aunty Jean was such a fun loving sweet woman that I always looked forward to chatting with. I wish that I would have phoned more often to visit. I will miss so many things about you especially your stories of you and mom when you were young. Great memories to cherish! "See ya!" - Posted by: Laura Burger (Niece) on: Feb 01, 2015
