Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY LOUISE FADUN February 25, 1933 - February 10, 2015 It is with great sadness that the Fadun family announce the death of their beloved mother and grandmother. At the age of 81, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 10, 2015. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Fred in June 2008. She leaves behind her sons Gordon (Ruth) and Jim (Linda); her grandchildren, Charity (Sam), Serena (Calvin), Rachelle (Ben), Boaz, Chris and Amanda, and seven great-grandchildren. Shirley was born in Winnipeg and raised in Middlechurch. She was close to her sister Joyce Brown who passed away in July 2012. Shirley met her husband Fred while sandbagging during the 1950 flood in Winnipeg. They married and spent most of their lives in Fort Rouge. For many years Shirley worked as a cashier at the Winnipeg downtown Eaton's store in the grocery department. She often spoke fondly of her time at Eaton's where she had many co-workers she considered friends. Shirley enjoyed shopping and giving gifts to her family. She always put other people's needs before her own. The family will always remember the great time spent at Grandma/Grandpa's home on Hethrington Avenue celebrating birthdays and special occasions. Shirley enjoyed cooking delicious meals and baking for her family. She was truly a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. We will never forget Shirley's kind and gentle personality, along with her friendly and comforting manner. The family would like to thank all the staff at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home for their wonderful care during her time there. A celebration of Shirley's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada charity, www.alzheimer.ca or 1-800-616-8816.
