Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION DINGWALL Peacefully on the morning of February 11, 2015, with her family and dearest friends Joy and Simone at her bedside, Marion Dingwall passed away after a battle with bone cancer and kidney disease at Concordia Hospital. With heavy hearts and deepest sorrows Marion leaves to mourn her loving family, daughter Karen Finkel, son-in-law Harry, grandchildren Kirstie (Justin) and Mark. Marion also leaves numerous family members and close friends around the world, in Winnipeg, Gimli and Winnipeg Beach areas. Born on December 5, 1936 in Glasglow, Scotland to parents Findlay and Ina MacLeod, Marion was the youngest of three siblings, John, Cathie and Malcolm. All predeceased Marion. Marion spent several years working as a nanny and at holiday resorts as a waitress in Scotland. In 1961 Marion met and fell deeply in love with Jim Dingwall. They married in November 1963. Marion and Jim happily welcomed the birth of Karen in November 1964. In November 1969 Marion, Jim and Karen ventured to Winnipeg to build a new life. Marion spent several years as a stay-at-home Mom until employment with T. Eaton Co. in cosmetics. Marion then moved onto Sears, then to Hudson's Bay Co. with Estee Lauder until her retirement in 2005. Marion loved her career in cosmetics and was a proud top sales member. In August 1991 Marion proudly welcomed the birth of her granddaughter Kirstie and in July 1994 proudly welcomed the birth of her grandson Mark. Nana loved her grandchildren so very much. In December 1993 Marion met and fell in love with the second deep love of her life, Bernie Grebinsky. They shared a fantastic holiday to Scotland in 2002 and to Florida in 2007 and 2009. After retirement Marion and Bernie resided in a lovely home in Winnipeg Beach. Many happy and loving memories were formed especially with her family and friends who were always welcomed to spend the day or weekend. Marion was struck with grief as she lost Bernie in March 2009. Following the passing of Bernie, Marion stayed in Winnipeg Beach enjoying her friends and line dancing in Gimli until returning to Winnipeg in August 2012. Marion loved her family dearly and shared many close friendships in her life. Marion's passions were music, walking, warm sunny days at the beach and especially line dancing. Grateful thanks to the ER doctors and nurses and 3rd floor nurses at Concordia Hospital for Marion's compassionate care in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Kidney Foundation in honour of Marion. A memorial service in memory of Marion will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy., on Tuesday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service is Deacon Philip Durant. Moved in to the whole next-door to Marion who is deeply impressed with how lucky I was to have such a wonderful caring compassionate neighbor. Many an evening we would spend together watching the sun go down having a glass of wine or tea talking about her need of Scotland, or relationships, or Bernie, our families. I learned how important family and friends were to her, how proud she was of her home, how deeply she loved and how much she loved living at the beach. I shall miss her forever. love you Marion. - Posted by: Lorna Smith (Past neighbors ) on: Feb 24, 2015

We first met Marion when she and Jim were caretaking the apartment we were living in, in 1973 and remained friends up to her passing. We shared many happy times and holidays together (Christmas, Easter, New Year's eve). We will miss her greatly as we do Jim and Bernie. Rest in peace Marion you deserve it. Love always. - Posted by: KEITH and SHIRLEY SQUIRRELL (FRIEND) on: Feb 15, 2015

My deepest condolences go to Karen and her family, I worked with Marion at the Bay downtown and loved working with her, we lost contact but years later while I was working at the IGA store in Gimli she walked in we rekindled our friendship like it was yesterday and still stayed in touch even though she had recently moved to Winnipeg. I've known Marion since I was in my late 20s and now I'm 50 she never changed, was truly a classy lady. I will never forget that smile or her laughter it was infectious! I loved you Marion and will truly miss you ❤️ - Posted by: Lisa Loos (Friend ) on: Feb 15, 2015

Dear Family: I am so very sorry for your loss. Marion was an absolute treasure to work with @ The Bay. She was delightful, charming and fiercely sassy. I truly admired her and her stories of Bernie and Karen. She had class and grace. - Posted by: Taralyn (CoWorker) on: Feb 15, 2015

Marion was one of the kindest people I have ever met. I am the manager at her Estée Lauder counter at the Hudson's Bay. Every visit, phone call and conversation was truly wonderful. She was so supportive emotionally for me during times in my life, she treated me like more than just a sales person, she genuinely listened and cared. I will miss her dearly, and never forget her kind words and warm smile. - Posted by: Dayna (Friend) on: Feb 14, 2015

I am truly saddened by Marion's passing. We were neighbors in the apt.block. We became instant friends and we had so much in common. She had a great sense of humor and I am so glad we had such a wonderful visit before her passing. Marion was truly a "classy lady" My sincere sympathies go out to her family.
