WILLIAM KRAHN WIEBE June 4, 1931 - February 11, 2015 With great sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Wiebe, peacefully, at Oakview Place, on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Bill is survived by his loving wife June, his children Ron, Cheryl, Brenda, Heather, Gregory and by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Jake, and sisters Margaret and Minnie. Bill was born and raised on a farm in De Salaberry, Manitoba. He left home at a young age to make his way in the world. In time, he arrived in Winnipeg and worked at Cowan Steel for over 40 years before retiring at age 61. Bill spent many years in happy, healthy retirement. Eventually, he battled and beat cancer but later suffered from and finally succumbed to liver disease. Along with June, the love of his life, constant companion and wife of 61 years, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. He particularly loved holiday dinners and get-togethers at the cottage. Also, Bill was the ultimate handyman. Whether it was carpentry, plumbing, roofing, electrical, mechanics or anything else, he always seemed to have the tools and know-how to get the job done. He is fondly remembered as a willing helper at many a building project, with hammer in hand, pencil behind an ear and a toothpick in his mouth. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Oakview Place for the care, comfort and companionship afforded to Bill over the last two years. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cancer Care or a charity of your choosing. At his request, Bill has been cremated and a private family interment has taken place. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

My deepest sympathy to all of the Wiebe family. I have such fond memories of our families spending time at your house when we would make the trip from Keewatin. Uncle Bill was always so cheerful and welcoming, always made us feel at home, and I always remember him as having a great laugh. He will be deeply missed. - Posted by: Karen Gutknecht (niece) on: Mar 03, 2015

I remember the time I received an easy bake oven for Christmas. It seemed like no matter what I cooked - raw, over cooked or both my father ate it and told me it was the most delicious thing I ever made. - Posted by: Heather Picton (Daughter) on: Feb 16, 2015
