KATHARINA ROHATYNSKY Peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, Katharina Rohatynsky passed away at Holy Family Home at the age of 79. Katharina will be sadly missed by her four children: Marusia (Alan), grandchildren David and Danika; Michael (Ellen), grandchildren Jordan, Tristan and Liam; Eugene (Gisèle), grandchildren Samuel and Sophia; Stephan (Janice) grandson Alexander. She will also be missed by her sisters Paula and Christine, nieces, nephews and extended family in Germany. Katharina was predeceased by her husband Stephan, her parents Johann and Maria Schaffer, sisters; Mary, Gertrude, Loisie and brothers; Hanz and Franz. Katharina was born on October 19, 1935 in Horitz, Czechoslovakia. She immigrated to Canada in 1953 with her brother Franz to join her sister Paula. Baba's greatest joy was her grandchildren that she loved very much. The family would like to thank the St. John's staff at Holy Family Home for their care, kindness and compassion. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street, Winnipeg. A private family interment will be held on Saturday.
