KAREN ARLENE BODNER (nee McCUTCHEON) With great sadness, surrounded by her family, Karen passed away February 8, 2015, after her fifth battle with cancer, at age 60. Cherished by her husband Chris, son James, parents Pauline and Doug McCutcheon, brothers Doug Banin (Denise) and Darren McCutcheon. Also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Raised in West Kildonan and Transcona, she attended TCI and later the University of Manitoba where she attained a Bachelor of Commerce - Honours, at the age of 37, after having her son in Toronto. She married in 1994 to Lt. Col. Chris Bodner, the love of her life. On their wedding day Chris told everyone that Karen would add colour to his life and this she truly did. A whole new adventure began as Chris was transferred to the Netherlands where they resided for eight years. She loved the travel and the diplomatic life of attending balls and banquets. Karen filled her time with charity work, giving dance lessons and choreographing NATO multi-national men and women in various performances. Her passion in life was dancing. Returning to Winnipeg in 2002, Karen continued with her study of Flamenco to the fullest of each and every performance. Thanks to the St. Boniface Hospital staff for the special care, kindness and support shown to Karen and her family. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
