BONNIE (BABA) SIMCOE August 4, 1944 - February 21, 2015 Bonnie left us early Saturday morning to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bonnie passed peacefully with her loving husband of 52 years (James), daughter Hollyellen, son Daniel and her eldest grandchild Jesse by her side. It is with deep sadness that we say good-bye to Baba. Baba led her life for her husband, children and grandchildren. Their happiness was her happiness and she reveled in the smiles of her grandchildren. Baba was an amazing, giving woman who always put others before herself. Baba cherished being a devoted grandmother and never missed any of the grandchildren's concerts or school events. Bonnie was born in Winnipeg and at the age of sixteen her life really began when she met a young man who worked for CN. For over 50 years Jim and Bonnie were a true love story. Together they raised two children in a home that was filled with joy, laughter and love. In her later years Baba loved sitting in the yard with her hubby watching and feeding the grey squirrels; annual flower shopping trip to Carmen with Sue and Warren and sneaking away with her hubby for the occasional honeymoon weekend in Grand Forks. Baba is now at peace, her pain and suffering has ended. She has joined her mom Ellen and sister Carole and cherished family pets. Baba is survived by he husband Jim, children Holly and Danny; grandchildren Jesse, Matthew, Meghan and Jennifer; great-grandson Corey, cousins Susan and Warren, Scott, Stacey, Paul and Courtney Wiles; sister-in-law Valerie Smith and husband Ron and family and the Busch family. Baba touched many hearts in her life. Those that knew her were richer for the experience. She will be deeply missed by cousins Susan and Warren Wiles and their children, niece Kathy Busch and her daughter Emma; and Baba's best friend Lynn Carrier. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. The family would also like to thank Sue and Warren and family for all of their help and support through this difficult journey as well as Baba and Gigi's wonderful neighbours Sandy and Brent Towns. Baba's family would like to thank Dr. James Johnston and his assistant Erin Struve from Health Sciences Centre CancerCare for caring for Baba for 16 years, as well as Dr. J's nurse Kristine. Dr. J and Erin treated and cared for Baba as if she was part of their family for 16 years. Their tireless efforts allowed us to have our Baba for many extra years. We will be eternally grateful for all they did. Baba used to say our world may be small like our house but it's full of love and laughter. "My Bird shall fly, up in the sky, Where stars glow and sun shines My light will carry on when I die I shall be the one to guide you And let you know it was never a forever goodbye, Stay strong my dear, do not cry I'll always be here for you by your side" - Meghan Forbes THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204 - 925 - 1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
