THOMAS KENNETH ROBERT CHARTRAND April 1, 1958 - February 21, 2015 With family by his side, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Kenneth Robert Chartrand, at the age of 56, on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his partner of 19 years, Patsy Mekish of Camperville; his sons, Craig and partner, Jason, Thomas and partner, his daughter Charmaine of Saskatchewan; his three stepchildren, Shauna (Don), Shaun (Juanita) and Stephanie of Camperville; and his brother Marvin Chartrand of Duck Bay, MB. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, two step-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Waiting for him in heaven are his twins Leon and Leroy Chartrand, his parents Harry and Elizabeth Chartrand, his brothers: Nelson, Brian, George, Joseph and Paul, and his sisters Theresa (Toofie) and Grace. Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always looked forward to spending time with his buddy Brian Thompson. Thomas enjoyed those rides in the water truck with his friend Wayne Richard (Lil Man). Thomas enjoyed spending endless hours with his step-grandson Don Jr., whom he referred to as his "Lil Jonas". Together they watched movies, played games and baked cakes. He also looked forward to when his nephews would come in from out of town and spend time with him and together they would have a great time. Tom was always a helping hand to his buddy Brian, no matter what it is was he was always there to help, especially when it came to fishing and carpentry. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg who cared for him during this difficult time. Keeping with Thomas' wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church in Camperville, MB, with Father John Okosun officiating.
