JACK MORROW We are very saddened about the loss of our beloved John (Jack) Melvin Morrow who died suddenly February 17, 2015 of heart complications while on holidays with his wife Debbie in Texas. Jack was born May 4, 1942 in Melita, Manitoba and enjoyed a great childhood with his brothers Gerry, Wayne and Fred playing golf, baseball, and curling. They also went on many family trips to watch Major League Baseball. Continuing the profession throughout the family, Jack graduated with a BS Pharmacy in 1969 from North Dakota State University. In partnership with his brother, Gerry, Jack started his career at the family pharmacy in Melita. He had other business pursuits through the years but always came back to pharmacy. His most recent venture included working and helping with the doctors and patients at North Point Pharmacy in Winnipeg, I know everyone there held him in high regard. He spent most of his life in Manitoba but also loved the West Coast and spent a few years in Vancouver and Tsawwassen. His great love of golf took him all over the world and he realized one of his dreams when he played the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. A most recent highlight was attending The Masters in Augusta, Georgia with his son David in 2014. In December 2008 he visited Carey and Candice in Taipei and took a short trip to Hong Kong. Jack and Debbie also travelled to India, Dubai, London, Barbados and loved spending part of winters in Palm Desert, CA. When Jack married Debbie Munn in 1988 his family expanded from two boys to five boys. He loved all of his family very much. Jack was thoughtful, kind, generous and "one of the good guys". He made an impression on everyone he met. The final week of his life he played the best two rounds of golf he had played in years and was very proud of that (and with rented clubs no less). Jack is survived by his wife Debbie; sons David (Aiselle) and Carey (Candice); stepsons Todd (Shannon), Michael, and Kristopher (Jazmin); granddaughter Scarlet; brother Fred (Diane); sisters-in-law Agnus and Irene and many nieces and nephews both in BC and Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents Lyda and Harry; and brothers Gerry and Wayne. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St. Selkirk, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. An online memorial page is available http://jackmorrow.forevermissed.com/ and we would love to have your stories, memories and pictures. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
