Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICK LLOYD LEROY It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick (Pat) Lloyd LeRoy, cherished and beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Pat is survived by his wife, Shirley of 32 years; daughters, Irma Connell (Wayne Bell), Wendy Powell, Janice Couperwhite (Alan), Jo-Anne Saunders (Rob); sister, Ione Coward (Clarence) and nieces, Dena Coward, Stacy Nagle, Patty LeRoy and Barb Shuman along with their families. "Pop" will also be missed by his grandchildren, Ali Connell, Cory Powell, Megan Murayama (Scott), Kaley Williams (Lee) and Taylor Hayward. "Grandpa Pop" enjoyed being happily entertained by stories of his great-grandchildren and will be missed by Easton, Sadie, Evan, Hudson and Abby. Pat's life journey began in LeRoy, Saskatchewan on July 18, 1927. Joining the RCAF at 19 turned into a life long career and upon retiring from the military, he worked as a Civil Servant for the Armed Forces. In their retirement years, Pat and Shirley enjoyed travelling, golf, curling and visiting with their many friends and family. Pat's family appreciates the help he received in his courageous battle with declining health. They wish to thank the staff of Gimli Community Health Centre as well as the staff at Betel Home, Gimli, for their compassion and care. "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." (~ Ralph Waldo Emerson) On March 3, 2015, a private family interment will take place in the Gimli Community Cemetery in Gimli, MB. Family friends are invited to a reception at the Lakeview Hotel, at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to remember Pat, please do so by extending to someone a kind word or deed. Uncle Pat, you touched the hearts of SO many people during your life and you will always be remembered for the kind, caring, compassionate man that you were. Although it's been a few years since I've seen you, I still remember the wonderful visit we had when you got to meet the kids. Please give Dad a hug from me. Love you SO MUCH.
