LILLIAN GAUDES (nee BRIERCLIFFE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lil Gaudes, our beloved mother, sister and grandmother at the age of 82 on March 8, 2015, at the Charleswood Care Centre. Lil was predeceased by her husband Tony (2005). Lil is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her sisters Beth Hutton and Tee Somers; her three sons Jim, Derek and Grant (Janine); and grandchildren Brendan (16), Carter (12) and Parker (11). Lil was born and raised in Methven, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg in 1948. Lil and Tony were married in 1957 and enjoyed 46 years of matrimony. Lil was a devoted homemaker and took great pride in raising her three sons. She made sure her boys were always thought of with a phone call everyday. Lil maintained a sharp memory and could share countless details about the people that attended to her care over the past 10 years. Lil spent the past three years at the Charleswood Care Centre and forged many wonderful relationships with the staff and fellow residents. She had a heart of gold and loving soul and will be missed by all. A funeral service celebrating Lillian's life will be held Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, with viewing one hour prior. A reception will be held at the funeral home following the service, and interment will take place at Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204 253-5086 ejcoutu.com

Jim, Derek and Grant, your father Tony will always be one of the nicest, kindest persons I have ever met, and Lil, well she was always caring and so nice to me. You only have to look at you three boys and see how well you turned out in life. Know that many care. See you at the lake this summer for a visit. My sincerest condolences. - Posted by: Lauris H. I always enjoyed being in Tony's & Lillian's Company. They were the only "cousins" I had for a very long time, on my father's side of the family. They were often at our house with Uncle Mike and Aunt Fedi, I miss those times very much. There is little one can do, I hope it helps in some small way to know I am thinking of you. - Posted by: Kathie Gaudes (cousin) on: Mar 16, 2015
