Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) LESLIE INDRIDI GOODMAN April 10, 1923 - March 14, 2015 On March 14 after a marvelous 91, almost 92 years, Dad passed away. He will be terribly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Maureen (Gary) and granddaughters Dayna (Chris) and D'Arcy (Will) as well as many friends, extended family members, and family pets. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy and his sisters Hazel, Thelma, Sylvia and Doreen. He was truly a kind, gentle and decent man. Dad ("Gappy" to his granddaughters) was born and raised in Winnipeg. He was a second generation Canadian of Icelandic descent and very proud of his Icelandic heritage. As soon as he turned 18 he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and subsequently spent four years overseas during the Second World War. Only in the last few years did he start to relate his experiences during the war and created a memoir of his time during the war. Following the war he returned to Winnipeg and ultimately worked in the furniture industry, travelling throughout North America. He played piano since a very young child and could have pursued a career as a musician. Music was always a large part of his life. In 1980 he and Dorothy moved to Lockport where they proceeded to create a park like property that was featured in Canadian Gardening and was their pride and joy. He remained independent until all but the very end, set up in his corner office' in the family room spending hours on the internet and keeping many mail order businesses busy. As per his request there will not be a service of gathering. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
