MARY BOCH Mom (Baba) passed away peacefully on the morning of March 28, 2015, at Betel Home in Selkirk, at the age of 91 years. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Walter on July 22, 2004, her parents William and Matrona Stolar and brothers Philip, Alex, Joe, Peter and Ed and daughter-in-law Brenda. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, David (Audrey), Wayne (Peggy), and Ralph (Sharon); six grandchildren Darren (Kristy), Kerri (Brett), Lisa (Rick), Jeff (Nicole), Chantel (Dustin) and Kyle (Brittany); seven great-grandchildren Kamryn, Dawson, Ethan, Noah, Logan, Ryan and Tobin. She is also survived by one sister Lena; one brother John (Ella) and sisters-in-law Rose, Polly, and Stella; in addition to numerous nephews and nieces. Mom was born on September 11, 1923 in Teulon but she lived the majority of her life in various parts of the municipality of St. Andrews. It was at a very young age while living on her parents farm in St. Andrews, that she developed a love for farming, gardening and animals. Mom first met dad, son of a farmer, in 1941 at a Christmas function and it didn't take her long to realize that they were meant to be together because dad also loved farming and the rural life. The result was that they were married a short time later in 1942. What followed for the next 40 plus years was a life of farming and hard work on three different farms all in St. Andrews municipality. In the 1980s, dad and mom moved to their retirement home on George Street near St. Andrews Airport, site of their first farm. Mom spent the last year and a half of her life at Betel Home where she received excellent attention and care. Mom's happiest years were on the three farms. She was an outdoors person and loved the routines involved with farming, gardening and raising livestock. Mom was an excellent cook and nothing gave her greater satisfaction than preparing meals from our own vegetables and livestock. She always maintained that commercially prepared foods were tasteless and contained harmful chemicals. As a parent mom's advice to us was always simple and can best be summed up in nine words "Don't smoke, don't drink and get a good education." Mom's advice was mostly followed and she was very proud of us. She often referred to us as her three jewels. Mom was also very proud of her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. On numerous occasions she showered each of them with kisses and hugs followed by a verbal reminder "Remember, baba loves you." We all love you, mom (baba) and we will miss you immensely but we find comfort in knowing that you will be reunited with dad and other loved ones. A Funeral Mass celebrating mom's life will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, in Rossdale, MB, on Donald Rd. Interment will follow in the Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of mom to the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery Maintenance Fund. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
