Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER IAN THOMSON September 10, 1944 March 30, 2015 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Peter is survived by his wife of 48 years Bonnie, his daughter Suzanne (Paul), his son Jeff, his brother Steve (Shelby), his sisters Kathleen, Debbie (Dave), Janis (Marlowe) and his adored grandchildren Evan and Anya. Peter was predeceased by his father Gordon and his mother Louise. Peter worked for National Refractories and Minerals most of his professional career. He travelled extensively through Canada and the U.S.A. He always found time to be involved in Crestview Community Club, Scouts Canada, the John Taylor Collegiate music program, ringette, hockey and soccer. Peter was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Peter's life on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. We would like to thank the staff of MICU at HSC for the exceptional care he received on his final day. A special thank you to Mel and Jen who held our hands while we held his. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the years of support and caring he received from the Home Hemo Dialysis Department at Seven oaks Hospital. A special kiss for Verna (Veronica), Peter's special nurse who cheered him on and who Peter dearly loved. In lieu of flowers, it was Peter's wish that donations be made to Home Hemo Dialysis Program. Please mail c/o Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, (2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2V 3M3). Your gift will support the purchase of new equipment that will greatly benefit the quality of life and independence of dialysis patients. We were so sad to hear of Peter's passing. We have such warm thoughts of his kindness, wit, and dedication while managing ringette over the years and his time as president at Crestview CC. He always put a smile on everyone's face. We'll remember him as a loving father and husband - rarely did we see Peter without Bonnie at his side. Bonnie & Family - Our deepest sympathies. Peter always made the day brighter when he would come to the store. Grant really misses his long chats whenever they ran into each other. Peter, you have been my rock over so many years, the one person I always knew I could count on, and knew you would be there for me when I needed you. We could hardly talk on the phone, at times, as we laughed so hard. I feel lost without you. Bonnie,thank you so much the way you have looked after Peter, my brother.
