KRIS EDWARD ANDRES RAMOS
Date of Passing: Apr 05, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKRIS EDWARD ANDRES RAMOS It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kris Edward Andres Ramos on Sunday, April 5, 2015. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Koren, his daughter, Kisa, his parents, Ed and Elvira Ramos, and younger brother, Kevin. Kris was born in the Philippines, and at age 10, he immigrated to Canada, where he immediately fell for the love of his life, Koren. This relationship blossomed in high school, where Kris nurtured his talents as a drummer, singer, and artist. If he wasn't sketching away, immortalizing his friends in ink, he was perfecting his moves to prepare for the next battle. After high school, he focused on his art, going to Winnipeg Tech, where he developed his skills as a graphic designer. He then moved to Toronto in 2004 to pursue his dreams of animation. When he returned to Winnipeg, he and Koren, rekindled their relationship. They were married in 2008, in front of their friends and family. Kris was immediately welcomed into Koren's family, her parents, Warren and Sylvanna, and her younger brother, Justin, who looked up to Kris for years. In 2009, Kris and Koren moved to Japan, where they both fulfilled a lifelong dream of living and traveling in Otaku heaven. They came back to Canada in 2011, in anticipation of the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Kisa Marie Elvira. Kris was a doting father. He sang the latest pop songs to her as a baby, played tea party with her when she was a toddler, and brushed her hair as a preschooler. Kris will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched: from his dancing friends from his bar nights, his childhood friends that he met when he first arrived in Canada, the multitude of friends he has made through the years, to all of the co-workers that became close friends. Most of all, he will be missed by his family near and far. Our lives will forever be changed by this loss, but the way Kris lived his life was more than meets the eye. How he lived his life will always inspire us to live, love, and laugh with the fullest of hearts. To all who knew and loved him, "Transform and roll-out." The funeral mass and celebration of Kris' life will be held on Friday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road with viewing one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards an education fund for Kisa Ramos, c/o Royal Bank of Canada. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. What an awesome guy. Talented. Smiling always and busy with the gifts he was given. A fellow new dad with hope and vision for his daughter and his family. Even though it's been 3 months since his sudden passing it still feels untrue. I couldn't imagine the loss that all the family and friends are feeling. May you all find peace and blessings. - Posted by: Bubba B (co-collaborator) on: Jul 22, 2015

Koren, I was taken back upon hearing of Kris’ sudden passing. It seems like only yesterday when the three of you sat across from me and we talked about baby Kisa and how fast she was growing. Kris was a very talented guy, with a keen eye for detail in his work, whether that was drawing a logo or sketching his characters, he always did a great job. My deepest sympathies Koren to you, Kisa and both of families. RIP Kris you will be missed. - Posted by: Will L. (Friend / Business Associate) on: Apr 14, 2015

I spent many breaks with Kris. As a young father he always had many questions for me. Being old enough to be Kris's Grandma I shared my husband's sucesses failures and how my husband showed his love for his children and mine and sometimes my husband looked like a total ass but because his heart was in the right place he always ended up the hero. Kris always got a laugh out of my family stories I was so flattered he sought my advice. He loved the "Ernie" (my husband's name) stories..and I miss telling him. I am so sorry your young family lost a young husband, father and fine young man too soon...you are in my prayers :( - Posted by: Monica Burns (co-worker) on: Apr 09, 2015
