LUELLA ANNIE SCHARER It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Luella Annie Scharer on April 2, 2015 at Concordia Place. Luella was born September 9, 1934 in Carmen, MB to Mayme and Alex McLean. Left to cherish her memory are her two loving daughters Lynda (Norman) and Diana (Frank), two sons Gordon (Donna) and Tim (Hazel), nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also left behind are her two brothers David McLean (Eileen) and Larry Pearson (Melinda). She was predeceased by her husband Leonard. Luella was raised in Winnipeg and spent holidays and summers on her grandparent's farm in Pilot Mound, MB. She married Leonard Scharer in May 1955 in Hamilton, Ontario. Three years later they moved back to Winnipeg to raise their family. Luella worked at various jobs throughout her life. The family spent many summers at Grand Beach. Then in 1983 they purchased property at Lee River. Luella was involved in the United Church Women's group and the Transcona Legion. She was an avid sports fan (football and hockey). Although Luella faced many health challenges in her later years she always kept a positive attitude and was always more concerned about others. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place for their loving care of Mom. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will follow at a later date. You will be missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare or the Heart and Stroke Foundations of Manitoba. Diana, Frank & Family My family and I were saddened to learn of Luella’s passing. Your mother / grandmother was always smiling when we went visiting Verna (my mother) Room 408. Luella was usually letting residents know about weather and current affairs at the dinner table, or in her room watching T.V. or on her phone. She was a true sweetheart. - Posted by: Randy & Carol Taman & Family (Friends) on: Apr 17, 2015

Luella had the most expressive face when she spoke! Her attitude was always positive and she's likely having a 'gab session' with those who passed before her. Condolences to all the family. Lue is painfree with a comfortable view. With Love, always. - Posted by: Betty Yascheshyn & family (Cousin by marriage) on: Apr 11, 2015
