NORMA LYNNE PULS September 7, 1936 April 16, 2015 On April 16, 2015, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre, with her family at her side. She will be especially missed by her three sons, Robert, Raymond, and David, their wives Susan, Kathy, and Heather and her grandchildren, Carly, Haley (husband Scott), Kendra, Alexa, Carina and Katelyn. Her husband Bert, sister Eileen and brother Bob predeceased Norma. Born in Dauphin, Manitoba on September 7, 1936, Norma grew up and found the love of her life, Albert John Puls. Married on May 19, 1956, they packed all of their worldly possessions into a car and moved to Winnipeg. As "Bert" developed his career in Air Traffic Control, Norma's passion was raising her three sons and caring for many others. Even later in life, with her family spread between Winnipeg, Calgary, Saskatoon and Europe, Norma never forgot a birthday and always had time for phone calls with her children and grandchildren. Mom was an avid baker and enjoyed crafts. The fridge was always full of cookies for nibbling and the grandchildren (and Ray) always looked forward to the assortment of treats at the lake. Each granddaughter received a special doll with clothes handmade by Grandma. One doll was so special that it is in a family portrait. That and many more of Mom's creations have become cherished treasures of family and friends. She loved pansies, every time we see them we think of her. Although home was in Winnipeg, Mom's heart was at Bird Lake in the summer and Hawaii in the winter. Mom spent many months each year at the lake reading and watching over the lake from "Grandma's spot" on the veranda. A family memorial service will be held at Bird Lake. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their compassionate care during her time there. You will stay in our hearts forever. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • To Rob, Raymond, David and your families. I just heard about your Mom this past weekend at the lake from Daryl. On behalf of all of us at the Friesen cottage I wish to extend our sincere condolences. Your Mom (and Dad) really loved Bird Lake. I hold great memories of your Dad pulling you guys around the lake on skis when we were young, and then, later, pulling the grand kids around..... your Mom, indeed watching these activities from her favorite spot in the veranda. Your mom will be sadly missed and always remembered by us and many others on Block 2 & 3. - Posted by: David Friesen (neighbor at Bird Lake) on: May 12, 2015

  • Our condolences to the family and many friends. We got to share that baking and heard many stories about Norma's family, the building of their cottage, blueberry picking and lots of bear stories. We miss those times, but will always hold on to those special times with your mom. Love, Leonard & Mary Howells. - Posted by: Leonard & Mary Howells (Neighbours at Bird Lake) on: Apr 26, 2015

  • I will always remember and treasure the times I spent with Norma (and Bert) at Bird Lake, and the kindnesses they showed me and my family. - Posted by: Marnie Zdriluk (friend and neighbour) on: Apr 25, 2015
